I’m Just a Little Leaf...

I’m just a little leaf

Atop a great big tree

I’m just a little leaf

But come peer up at me

My colors tell a story

Of crisp, cool autumn morns

My skin has changed so greatly

Since the day that I was born

Spring was a playful pixie

It’s breezes a gentle murmur

Summer came behind her

Though not a stitch sterner

Fall’s chilly gusts blew in and out

And my friends all lost their places

The frosty nights and sunny days

Painted gold upon their faces

But a lifetime for a tiny leaf

Is just a season for a soul

And kindness from a stranger

All that can make them whole
